Do you track and celebrate your wins? Big or small, personal or professional, do you keep a record?
One of the best habits I started about four years ago—during a time of major personal and professional upheaval—was creating my Hype File.
For me, it’s a simple folder in my email inbox where I collect screenshots, voice notes, glowing performance reviews, and any other “YOU DID THAT” moments. It’s a game-changer for those days when imposter syndrome creeps in or when I need to reflect on my accomplishments during performance review season.
If you don’t already have something like this, now is the perfect time to start. Go through your emails, texts, social media messages, and anywhere else you might find moments of recognition. Save them. Revisit them. Let them remind you of your value.
Your Hype File isn’t just a confidence booster—it’s a tool for growth. When you’re feeling uncertain about your progress, reviewing your past wins can help you refocus and regain momentum. It’s also incredibly useful when it’s time to advocate for yourself, whether you’re preparing for a performance review, updating your resume, or making a case for a promotion. Having concrete examples of your impact and achievements at your fingertips makes it easier to communicate your value.
So here’s my challenge to you: Start your own Hype File and use it not just to celebrate, but to propel yourself forward.
Because recognizing your achievements isn’t just about the past—it’s about building confidence for the future.
